The 42-year-old woman’s body was found about nine miles outside of Batken by relatives.
In Jalalabad province’s Bazar-Korgon district, ministry officials estimate that 374 homes were inundated as a result of the flooding, caused by heavy rains over the weekend.
“In the seven villages of the rural district, torrents flooded 374 homes,” the ministry said in a statement.
“Of these, MES [ministry of environmental services] have judged 16 homes to be unfit, three need major repairs, and 115 are under control,” the statement said.
