Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is continuing to replace the heads of Turkmen banks weeks after his decidedly unfree re-election as leader.
All of the replacements announced on Tuesday in state media are for commercial banks.
New heads will be directing the following banking establishments in the isolated state: Turkmenistan Bank, State Bank of Development, Khalkbank, Garagum, and Turkmenbashi Bank.
All of the former directors have been provided with other jobs, the Turkmen government notice stated.
The Turkmen leader fired the chairman of the Turkmen State Bank for the standard “serious shortcomings in work”, and asserted that the former bank head, Begench Chopanov, used his position for personal gain.
Berdimuhamedov also dismissed the chairman of the State Commercial Bank, Dawood Durdiyev.
Berdimuhamedov won an uncompetitive election on February 12 with 97 percent of the vote.
