Uzbekistan will make its debut at an Asian fresh fruit trade exposition for the first time, an industry site reported on Tuesday.
The Central Asian state will participate in the Asia Fruit Logistica exposition next month, to be held in Hong Kong from September 5 to 7.
The Uzbek participant in the industry trade fair will be a firm called Fresh Green Agro Group (FGA Group), the Fresh Plaza news agency reported.
“Our main aim in participating in Asia Fruit Logistica 2012 is to establish new partnerships with Asian countries,” FGA Group Vice President Murat Kurshu told FreshPlaza.com.
“We believe attending such a prestigious trade show will open doors in Asia for us.”
The event is the only one of its kind which is held in Asia, and is attended by firms from Korea, New Zealand, the U.S., Chile, Brazil, and China, to name a few.
The conference is not only open to fruit growers, but also growers of vegetables, spices, organic products, and potted plants.
