Two Uzbek nationals wanted for murder in Russia were arrested as they attempted to head to Kazakhstan to evade charges, Russia’s Federal Security Service said on Friday.
The two Uzbeks were wanted for a murder in the Russian province of Chelyabinsk, the Itar-Tass news agency reported.
Police stopped the Uzbeks at the Krutoyersky settlement near the Russian-Kazakh border. The Uzbeks are suspected of killing the owner of the house in which they were staying in the Russian city Perm, as well as kidnapping the homeowner’s 14-year-old daughter.
Authorities from Perm discovered the 14-year-old with the suspected murderers.
The Uzbek nationals did not have the appropriate documentation to cross the border in Kazakhstan and would have entered illegally.
