French businessmen are eager to invest in Kyrgyzstan, the French ambassador to the Central Asian state said during a meeting with high-level government officials on Wednesday.
“We see the success of democratic reforms in the country,” French Ambassador Thibault Fourriere said during a meeting with Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev.
“This is a great example for the world. Since last year, I started to contact the French businessmen who are interested in developing cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.”
Atambayev said Kyrgyzstan is eager to deepen its economic relations with France, and welcomes investment in the fields of light industry, tourism, science and technology, and engineering.
France has maintained a diplomatic office in Kyrgyzstan since 2004, and in December 2009 it became a full embassy.
