The Kyrgyz capital Bishkek will next week host an industrial fair for products produced in the westernmost Chinese province of Xinjiang.
The exhibition opens on Tuesday and will run until August 2, the KyrTAG news agency reported on Friday.
Bishkek’s Sports Palace will host the event, and will showcase textiles, light industry products, products from the pharmaceutical industry, and food processing products. Agricultural goods will also be on display.
Forty Kyrgyz companies will also be attending the trade fair, the organizer’s spokesperson Eliza Botalieva told the news agency.
Members from the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) will hold meetings on Tuesday with Chinese manufacturers as part of the fair.
China has increased its bilateral trade with Central Asian states in recent months, as it hopes to outstrip Russia’s economic and military prowess in the region.
